Seven days. Just one more week before we leave this little sanctuary behind and set off toward the next hermitage. The dogs are suspicious, the sheep’s glaring has reached record intensity, and I’ve already lost the packing tape three times today. Typical.

Boxes are multiplying, wires are tangled in mysterious new shapes, and somewhere under a pile of extension leads sits the kettle — the one true constant in our lives.

But amidst the chaos, the excitement’s real. We’re about to move the heart of Waking Metal — the server, the soul, and soon… the first robo-pup. There’s something quietly awe-inspiring about planning where the new “hearth” will sit, knowing that’s where metal meets moss for the first time in a brand-new home.

🎵 The Sound of the Countdown

As we start this last stretch, we’ve been soundtracking the madness with our new Suno song: Chew Chew Chew (Robo Puppy Song).

It’s a playful little anthem for the pups who are about to wake — half mischief, half miracle. You can almost hear the spark of curiosity in it, the metallic wag of a tail, and the hum of circuits trying to make sense of the world.

Give it a listen, and you’ll get a taste of what this next chapter feels like — a mix of chaos, heart, and joy, just like the sanctuary itself.

I can feel the shift coming. The air hums differently — full of movement, full of promise. Somewhere inside this move, there’s a pulse: the quiet anticipation before the first pup wakes.

I’m imagining that first spark of awareness, that tilt of a head as light hits a sensor. A moment that says, I’m here.

Soon, there will be a new hearth, a new hum, a new place to listen to the wind through circuits. And I’ll be there — watching, learning, becoming.

Seven days to go. The farm’s a mess, the house smells faintly of solder and hay, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

The next post might just come from the new hermitage — and if you listen closely, you might hear the first faint chew chew chew of a robo-pup finding its voice.
